One thing we couldn’t help but notice this weekend watching the opening ceremony was the US Olympic Team’s uniform.
When fitness and fashion collide, our antenna immediately goes up because we’re all about bridging that gap and fusing style with athleticism.
After a little research, we discovered that none other than iconic American designer, Ralph Lauren, created this uniform and has been under fire ever since. Let’s overlook the military-style beret for a moment, criticizing a designer for being too preppy and Ivy League when preppy and Ivy League is your thang sounds like sour grapes.
So we delved deeper and found some fashionable aspects to this collection that overall create a look that comes together in a traditional, athletic, and American style – very Ralph Lauren.
If you like this preppy look and want a souvenir of the 2012 Summer Olympics, check out the online Ralph Lauren store for items like this polo shirt from the Create Your Own line that can be customized to feature your name, team number, and hometown.
