Fitmark CEO, Mark Samuel, talks about the year and what’s ahead.
It’s more than just bags. It’s always been and always will be. It’s a lifestyle. That’s what we’re building with Fitmark. And, it’s not just me. It’s the talented and extraordinary people we have the privilege to work with every day. It’s the fierce athletes and friends who have supported our brand from day one. And, it’s the growing community that continues to follow our company, buy and support our products and help to motivate us each and every day. It’s for all those reasons that we continue to put in the hard work. It’s for those reasons that we commit ourselves to achieving our mission of filling the void between high powered athletes and their bags.
Since it’s almost New Year’s it’s only fitting that we look back at this year and summarize some great things we’ve been a part of and then offer a glimpse into 2013.
One great thing about logging blog posts (just like workouts), you can look back and see your history. First, I was able to look back at our first blog post which was in early January. It didn’t mention it, although besides launching the blog, we had just launched our social media campaigns on Facebook and Twitter. It was through early Facebook posts that we got a real sense of the community we were building and the excitement just grew from there. Then, in early May, when the bags were being released for pre-order on our newly launched website, I wrote about the time it took to get things right. It’s in that post and a few others that followed that really identify the core values of the brand: to build a brand of bags that represent our lifestyle, the fitness lifestyle.
Since the launch of our Facebook page in January, to the website launch in May, and bags starting to ship in June, each day has brought an adventure, one that we continue to learn from. It’s through experience and learning, just like a workout, that you try and get better at what you do. This wasn’t about selling bags. It’s much bigger than that. It was about providing something to a group of people, just like me, a fitness enthusiast, looking for a high quality, well designed bag for work, gym, travel and everything in between: one that stood for and represented the character of a fitness enthusiast.
So, what can you expect in 2013? Simply put, a lot. We have new bag designs set to launch in early 2013, and even more throughout the year. We have new ad campaigns and opportunities for athletes throughout the world. We have ideas and innovations that will further our mark in the industry and we have stories of fitness, style and everything in between that will continue to be covered throughout our social platforms. We’ll be busy, that’s for sure. But, we love every second of it.
2012 and going into 2013 is and always has been about you, the fitness enthusiast. It’s about everyone who supports us. It’s about the people involved with our company. All we can do is fill the mission we set out from day one and speak about the brand from our heart. Our hope is that everything we say and everything we do resonates with you or at least has you happily following along our journey. Again, it really starts from the core of our passion through fitness. You can’t fake that. It must be something you love. Something you identify with. Something you share with friends and family. Well, that’s me. I love the lifestyle and I can promise that it will always be a core value of our brand at Fitmark. From there, everything else falls into place, like hard work, dedication, loyalty, success and so much more.
Yes, we make bags. And, we absolutely love doing it. But, we’re about much more. And, we hope you’ll continue to join us on this journey.
