Fitmark Ambassador Madison Bosurgi, talks about finding balance.
There’s something about the holiday season and children. Ask an adult how they feel about this time of year and most will say something like, “It’s flying by and I have so much to do!” A child will most likely say, “When is it going to get here? I wish it were like this all year long!” The glow in a child’s eyes and the excitement, belief, and cheerfulness is priceless. The dreams, bravery, innocence, and drive of children somehow become diminished over the years into adulthood. Through this movement into the New Year, I ask that YOU find the child deep within your heart; get that bravery; the feeling that nothing can hold you back. Analyze your dream, envision yourself where you’re happiest, and get there.
A new year does not necessarily mean a “new you” but it is just another chance or opportunity to become a better version of yourself. I often find that having other areas of your life in check and balance will lend themselves to your newest goal or project. Organizing your house, prepping your meals for the week or planning what you will need, having your Fitmark bag packed for your next workout, and creating a schedule will leave no room for excuses or deviations from your plan of action. When you have all of this in check, the rest comes down to YOU!
Fact of the matter is, you can have everything around you “just so” and your favorite cardio machine, your new pair of lifting gloves, or your favorite instructor can be calling your name. But, the bottom line is, how bad do you want this? Are you willing to sacrifice the factors that have been holding you back? Are you able to find a healthy balance between a healthy lifestyle, friends, family, work, etc.? The answer is simply YES! Of course you can!
When I ask my first grade students what he or she wants to be when they get older, I receive a wide range of answers from a princess to a trash man or from an astronaut to a rock star. You, too, probably answered with such enthusiasm and drive once before; so, what is stopping you now? You know what you want, you know how to get there, so put your blinders on to the stereotypes and negativity in your adult life and GO! Think not about what you can’t do, but rather what you WILL do!
