Fitmark Ambassador Bonnie Coggiola talks about creating good habits
As a Wife, Mother,Trainer and Fitness Competitor there is nothing better than preparation to help kickstart your day to be successful! Life can sometimes throw us a curveball and when it does, nothing feels more relaxing than being mentally and physically prepared.
When you can create good habits daily, they become easier, whether it’s packing your necessities or laying out your clothes the night before. Healthy habits are good to create and over time they become part of your routine. The whole point of planning ahead is to have you ready for the unexpected. I make myself available on Sunday to pack for the week, whether it be a snack, clothes or what’s going into my gym bag.
Lets say my day is nonstop and I barely have enough time to drive to one destination, then make it back home to pack my gym bag, grab a water bottle & my ipod.
Some of us may know what it feels like to forget one of these items that get us through our workout! You can almost bet that you’re guaranteed to leave one of these things behind.
The point for packing ahead is to have a more of a stress free feeling so that when you arrive to the gym you have the full benefit of a good workout and less worry about what you forgot. Your time to train should be a priority but instead we feel that it causes us to go out of our way to do it so, we then don’t do it at all.
Wouldn’t it be nice to know that all the planning and packing ahead is now coming in handy? You now picked up a routine that actually makes your day run a little more smoothly and even actually made some time for yourself! Wow! That’s a huge accomplishment. Not only that but you gained a good habit of organization.. I am now able to get into my car make my rounds and without the worry of leaving anything behind.
If you make time to prepare yourself ahead you can now take one excuse and kick it out the door. Our life can be filled with so many demands in one day.
Start off by choosing something that you know that would give you more value to your time so that you no longer have to worry about running late or forgetting something. Make plans the night before and pack your gear so that you start enjoying the quality time that you have made yourself by thinking ahead! Small attainable habits grow into bigger, better habits that last!
