Fitmark Ambassador Ryan Smith talks about working to become the best
How do you become the best that YOU can be?
By working and developing YOUR individual strengths and by surrounding yourself with people whose strengths are your weaknesses.
Do you spend too much time working on your weaknesses? Giving 100% effort to working on your weaknesses, and as a result you might move from the 50th to 51st (maybe even the 55th) percentile, but if you give that same 100% effort to developing your strengths it could take you from the 98th to the 99th percentile. And the road is a lot less crowded out there. Whether as an athlete, a stockbroker, a teacher, anything. Spend your time working to be the best that you can be. Don’t get caught up
Michael Phelps didn’t spend his time working on his golf swing to become a gold medal swimmer.
Tiger Woods didn’t spend his time working on his baseball swing to become the best golfer.
Craig Alexander doesn’t work hard to become the best electrical engineer, he works hard to become the best triathlete.
They spend time working on the skills that make them the best at what they do. You can’t be the best in everything, so spend the time becoming the best in your talents.
