Fitmark Ambassador Corey Hammac explains how hard work will help you achieve your fitness goals
One thing that you need to stop doing is stop putting fitness models, pros, etc. above yourself. When I was first starting to work out, in high school, I couldn’t keep my head out of fitness magazines. Looking at the bodybuilders and models, with their ripped up physiques and monster sized muscles, I felt like I was looking at a comic book! I swore to myself that one day, just maybe, I could look somewhat like that!
Did I believe it? Well, 1% of me actually thought I could, but they were just so much better than me!!
Or were they?!?
10 years later I’m an IFBB pro with 95% of the body I always dreamed of. So how did I get it you ask? Was I bit by a radioactive spider? Did I get pumped full of gamma radiation? (as much food prep as I did in front of the microwave, this might actually have something to do with it haha!). The answer: I worked harder than I ever did before. I sacrificed, prepared, pushed, sweat, and never let myself say “tomorrow” instead of “right now”.
The only difference between you reading this now and someone in a fitness magazine is a few things: dedication, time, and motivation. Find your motivation, make time, and dedicate yourself to make yourself a better you. Will you end up on a magazine cover? Maybe. Will you become a pro? Who knows? Will you be one big step closer to your goals because of your new mentality? Yes!
We were all beginners at one point and we all had to learn how to craft the body we wanted somehow, and this includes the models and pros you may look up to now! We are all just regular people, how hard you work and how bad you want something –that- is what will take you to the next level.
Keep posting those pictures of Jamie Eason, Amanda Adams, Phil Heath, Frank Zane, etc. on the wall. Read those magazines and blogs that light the fire under your rear to get you in the gym, or put back that snickers that isn’t in your meal plan. Do whatever it takes to accomplish your goals, but I ask one thing of you: don’t ever think that you can’t end up inspiring someone else!
