Greetings fellow FITness gurus. I’d like to take a minute to discuss how beneficial being healthy can be to some of us who are always on the go. I’ve been in the travel industry for a number of years. First I was in international travel going from various country to country touring the professional water sport circuit. After completing my career as a professional water sport athlete on that front, I continued my career as an airline pilot. I was never stationary in one spot for more than eight months at a time for over four years.
With all this traveling, people wondered how I kept healthy (very rarely getting sick and always keeping a sleek figure). The answer to their question basically came down to having a regimen that works for ME in my life that came from studying bodybuilders and nutritionists alike. During my long international flights I became an avid reader of sports nutrition books and figure competition articles. What I learned from reading all of these is that you have to make being healthy and active a lifestyle rather than a chore.
What I challenge everyone out there to do is learn more and more about what makes the human body do what it does. I can definitely agree with anyone who says that the public school system teaches our youth almost nothing of this subject…. what a shame. We must make it our mission to spread the meaning of ‘healthy’. By learning about proper nourishment and experimenting with various safe exercise methods I believe we can all become much happier and content with ourselves. I can say that I’m still in the learning process every day when it comes to the subject. I still have to be creative when finding something proper to nourish me in an airport or hotel… that’s where everyday challenges test us as FITness lovers!
Safe travels out there. Keep learning and spreading the good vibes of our lifestyle.
