I’ve always trained with my own improvements in mind. Sure, there are physiques that I admire and athletes whom I find inspiring. However, inspiration and admiration has never equaled “vision”.
With every set, every rep, I see the results that I want for “me” in my mind. The mirror might not reflect each of these improvements yet but little by little, certain ones have emerged giving me confidence that the others will too.
I find that I train harder and more intensely when I’m focused on my own potential….
I guess what I’m saying is that it’s great to admire the physiques and certain attributes of others. This ones abs, someone else’s glutes or shoulders. But training with such an external point of view seems counterproductive to me… Results come from connection.
When building your blueprint of what you want to see in that mirror, make sure it’s with “your” foundation in mind. You’ll train harder, with greater intensity and greater focus. And likely, with greater results too!
Build your perfect body in your mind’s eye, then train like mad to achieve it!
