The summer is approaching which means traveling season is underway. If you are a fitness fanatic like myself, some of the first things that may cross your mind is, when am I going to workout and where? Here are a few tips for traveling and working out:
Prior to departing for your trip, plan out an itinerary. Whether it is a work related trip or personal, the best way to secure the time for your workouts and other activities you may be interested in, is to have a schedule. Determine your workout time, meal times, meetings, and other activities and enter them in an agenda. It would help minimize the stress and keep you fit while you’re away.
In addition to the pre-trip preparation, do your research. Find out what and where the facilities are available for you to use for your workouts. Whether it is a gym, a track, the hotel stairwell, or a park, locating your place of fitness can help determine the type of workouts you would be able to do while on your trip.
Bring some travel-friendly equipment. Resistance bands are convenient, light, and they do not take up a lot of room in your suitcase when traveling.
Below are some examples of workouts you can do with just the resistance bands:
•Traveling abductors with isometric- bicep
•Sumo-squat with upright row
Other travel-friendly equipment you can bring are the TRX and a jump rope. Safe Travels!!
