With the hustle and bustle of everyone’s daily lives, it is inevitable that we’ll get stressed out, irritated, or annoyed at some point – it happens to the best of us. When these somewhat inescapable events occur in our lives it is important to have a way around them so they don’t impede upon your personal and fitness goals, or negatively influence the people around you.
Try your best to find the little things in life that make you happy and designate some point during the day for you to enjoy that activity or hobby. For me, I absolutely love grilling, swimming, taking a jog/walk on my lunch break, gardening, or going for a stroll and chatting with my wife. If I’m ever having a tough or stressful time in life, I do my best to incorporate at least one (hopefully more) of these things into my day and allow it to act as a mood enhancer. I know this tactic may sound trivial and a bit ridiculous, but it works wonders for me. This little trick has helped me get over some stressful events and has allowed me to improve upon my workouts on those tough days as well.
So next time a tough day rolls your way, I challenge you give my method a shot. Identify something small, simple, and quick that you enjoy and MAKE it happen. I promise you it’ll help you snap back into a positive, productive, and healthy mood!
