Has there ever been a point in your life where you say to yourself “enough is enough?!” Well, that was me before I started on my weight-loss and lifestyle transformation journey years ago.
Before I decided to take that leap, I was tipping the scale at around 180 pounds at 5’5”. I realized my unhappiness on the inside was a true reflection of my unhappiness of what I was seeing on the outside. It hit me really hard, when I had to go shopping for a formal evening gown in a plus size store. I honestly remember wanting to break down and cry right then and there.
I acknowledged my emotions and frustrations associated with my lifestyle and traded in my days of satisfying myself with junk for healthier options and early morning sweaty gym sessions. I was committed and determined to and for a better self.
Now, I am not saying that I never had bad days or encountered set backs. I just learned how to overcome them, whether it be in my routine, nutrition plan or mind-set. Failure to plan, plan to fail.
I never could imagine I would be where I am today if I didn’t have a belief in myself. For the past 6 years, I have been competing as a fitness model and figure athlete in various shows across Canada and the United States. I know I am living proof that anyone with a “want” and intrinsic passion to change can do it. Let me reiterate, it has NOT been an overnight success or an easy road by any means. I had to work damn hard to get there and I work even harder to maintain.
My commitment to a healthier lifestyle has kept me focused in the gym, inspired to learn new skills, try new training techniques and classes and surround myself with like-minded individuals.
Take a chance on yourself and your cupcake wishes and oreo dreams will be a thing of the past too.
