Fitness is a huge part of your lifestyle, whether you’re actively involved or just doing basic house chores. Fitness is everything, and it’s evolving every day. It’s one of man-kinds ways to be physically innovative. When people think of fitness, they depict a gym with dumbbells and ellipticals. Fitness is more than that stereotype. It can be anything ranging from yoga to Krav Maga. Anyone can enjoy it in anyway and feel a sense of accomplishment. Anybody can find something physically demanding that they love to do. All you need to do is believe in yourself.
Personally for me, anything that pumps adrenaline into my body and works my muscles like a machine seems like a humbling sanctuary. I used to be terrified of heights but now one of my favorite sports is rock climbing. Ironic right? I always told myself that I should get over that fear and then one day I took that leap of faith. I practiced and practiced until I got the mechanics down. Soon after that I scaled 275 feet of the south wall in Bar Harbor, Maine. This was a great accomplishment for me, not only have I conquered my fears but I found out that I’m incredibly good at something truly unique, and it was worth all the practice and fear. I would not have been able to do this if I didn’t take the chance, if I didn’t challenge myself, if I didn’t believe in myself.
I’m not trying to tell some personal success story, I am simply trying to inspire and urge you to try something new. If you already have found your fitness sanctuary, then stick with it. Create goals and make it more interesting in some way. Find a friend and share your sanctuary with them. Never give up on yourself or get bored with fitness. It is always evolving and so are you. People are always finding new ways to push their body’s limits, no matter how bizarre. So what are you waiting for? Challenge your fears, believe in yourself, and evolve with the rest of the fitness community!
