Some are born with it, others develop it. Some may over-use it, while others are meek. It comes (and lacks) in people of all sizes and walks of life.
Confidence. Assurance. Self appreciation. Certain truth. A belief that abilities and qualities are present in one’s self. These are words to live by, mantras to get you through rough patches. Belief in yourself. That belief is turned to an intrinsic motivator, and a cycle is formed.
The phrase “look good to feel good” may hold true to those who have not harnessed the truth of their abilities and qualities. Switching it to “feel good to look good” opens up a myriad of possibilities to develop that certain truth. Confidence makes one stand tall, open their chest, take longer strides. Confidence brings radiance and light, which shines in every reflection. Confidence allows for risks to be taken, chances to be drawn, and perseverance to continue.
As with anything, confidence will waiver and it is important to realize that “off” days are to be had by everyone. It does not mean your truth is gone, or your innate sense of self is lost. Remembering your mantra will help center you and assure you of your qualities, abilities, and your certain truth.
Appreciation from others is earned. Appreciation of self is developed. Find your strength, appreciate every step of your path, and your beauty will be visible inside and out.
