One of the best guards in the game retires.
Although being absent for four years from the NBA, Allen Iverson has announced he is retiring from the game he loves. The 38-year-old shooting guard has been said to be “the best pound-for-pound NBA player” by NBA star, Lebron James. After being drafted in 1996 by the 76ers, Iverson built himself an impressive NBA resume being an 11-time All-Star and seven-time All-NBA selection. At just 6 feet, 165 pounds, Iverson outscored the three highest-scoring players over the course of his NBA career. He is considered an idol for NBA superstars like, Dwayne Wade and Lebron James.
Through his retirement, Iverson has been nothing but humble. He has given credit to both Larry Brown, and his form Georgetown University coach John Thompson, for turning him into the man and NBA star he has become. His retirement ceremony was an opportunity to honor and remember his outstanding achievements throughout his career.
Although he is stepping away from basketball, Allen Iverson, will forever be one of the greatest players of the game, and that is why he Fits The Mark!
