If you’re a serious marathon runner you know the name, Geoffrey Mutai.
Even those who are not, know him as one of the top marathon runners out there today. Mutai, 32, captured his second NYC ING Marathon title just the other week, finishing the race with an impressive time of 2:08:34. He gave spectators something to watch as he powered to the finish line leaving his fierce competitors in his dust. This accomplishment is just another title Mutai gets to add to his impressive marathon history as a runner, and more importantly as family man.

Geoffrey Mutai, from Kenya, has competed and won several of the United States’ biggest marathon competitions. Aside from his two NYC ING Marathon titles, he holds two Boston Marathon titles as well, winning the 2011 and 2012 races. Mutai broke a 10 year NYC marathon course record back in 2011 with a staggering time of just 2:05:06. That time slashed a full 2 minutes and 37 seconds off the original record, which he still holds today. These are just few of his many incredible marathon accomplishments.
Aside from marathon running, Mutai is a caring husband and father. Mutai and his wife welcomed their daughter Ivy into the world in 2009, just as Mutai really started to hit his stride in his marathon runner. He credits his running to his natural ability and has stayed humble throughout his successful marathon career. Mutai has made an impressive mark on marathon running and that is why he Fits The Mark!
