Get up! Sitting is probably having an adverse effect on your body. The human body is not designed to sit for prolong periods, we are meant to be mobile. Prolonged sitting affects your posture, flexibility and mobility. Look around and check out how people are sitting around you, I bet you find most in a slouched position, with the head and shoulders forward.
Not only is this bad for your posture, sitting in this position weakens your abs, (goodbye to that 6 pack you’ve been working on). Blaming jogging for your tight hamstrings? It could be a result of sitting, keeping your knees in a bent position for a prolonged time causes the hamstrings to shorten. Not only does sitting affect your hamstrings but your gluts become weak and your hip flexors shorten resulting in back pain.
Who have thought doing nothing but sitting could be so bad for you. So aim to get out of your seat every 30 minutes, stand and get your legs moving, even if it is only for a few minutes your body will love you for it.
