Fitmark Ambassador Carrie MacCorkindale shares how you can get more than you think in exercise walking the strip of Las Vegas when on vacation
Its true! Las Vegas is a city that never sleeps! However, if you look beyond the neon flashing lights of the casinos, the nighttime club crawlers and the bountiful buffets, you really can have a relaxing and recharging vacation.
As the King of Pop Michael Jackson once sang, “So tonight, gotta’ leave that nine to five upon the shelf and just enjoy yourself.” And that was exactly what I did! A delayed evening flight, a 3-hour time difference equals total exhaustion! After catching up on some much needed zzzz’s, grabbing a delicious, nutritious breakfast close by the MGM Grand, I was off to explore what Sin City had to offer!
Keeping active has always been a priority of mine while being away from home. With that being said, I busted out a short HITT cardio session most mornings before breakfast and walked and I mean WALKED EVERYWHERE! Definitely surpassing the daily recommended 10, 000 steps and burning off those extra buffet calories. The entire Las Vegas strip is about 4 miles, so it is possible to walk it and get to just about any place without a car.
Vegas isn’t just a gambling town as there is so much to do and see. Check out a show, pamper yourself with a spa visit and sip on a cappuccino sitting underneath the hand painted evening sky at Caesars Palace. That being said, just take the time to enjoy. Your physical and mental well-being will thank you!
