If you’re a stay-at-home mom or dad, you know you need your ‘me time’ as much as anyone else. Especially since staying at home can sometimes give you the boxed-in blues. We have some great at-home fitness ideas for you that can get you energized, keep you fit and most of all, make sure that ‘me time’ is met! A great short workout we suggest is 3 movements, repeated 3-5 times in sets. Here is a total body workout you can do – all you need is you!
3-5 Rounds x 15-21 Reps Each:
Push-ups: perform these either beginner style on your knees, or, if you’re really hardcore – pun intended – on your toes for targeting upper body, including: arms, core, and glutes (keep ’em squeezed together to help aid in strength to get you back to the starting position.). You can modify hand positions too. Just be sure form is on point!
Burpees: ahhh don’t we all just love a great whoopin’?! As much as these are dreaded, they hit it all! And they’re great for adding cardio into strength so you get that heart rate up! Be sure to keep your core in tight performing these as well to protect your lower back and keep good form.
Jump squats: these don’t require weights and we know once you get into them, you’ll see why! Jump squats target those glutes and quads, along with those hamstrings that are imperative to build for rear leg strength. We love a great hamstring tie in!
Rest for 2-3 minutes before performing 2 more rounds of this and you can call ‘me-time’ done!
