There has been a lot of talk recently on whether or not Mississippi State’s Quarterback, Dak Prescott, will leave a year early and enter the draft. The 6’2″, 235 pound junior is having a great season so far: throwing for 1,478 yards, 14 touchdowns, and improved completion of 61.5 percent.
Does this mean Prescott will opt out of his senior year and head into the draft? It is a good question, and a lot depends on his draft stock. The concern is that many NFL scouts are indecisive on his true potential, and the major debate is if he should be a first or second round pick or a late round pick. With only six games into his junior year, there is no definitive answer; however, Prescott did address Sports Illustrated saying he would consider leaving MSU if he was projected to go in the first three rounds.
Again, let’s keep in mind we’re not even halfway through the 2014 season so there is still much to learn about this young talented athlete. All we do know is that he is an extremely motivated player, who is developing elite quarterback awareness, has improved his passing game significantly, and for this he Fits the Mark!
