During the month of October many NFL analysts were debating on whether or not the Dallas Cowboys can be considered the best team in the 2014 season. With a 6-3 record, entering week 10, the Cowboys are optimistic on having their “star” quarterback Tony Romo back on the field. Tony Romo statistically is having one of the best seasons of his career leading the Cowboys to an impressive 6-2 start, with 1,998 passing yards, 15 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. But his momentum was crippled when he had to sit out against the Cardinals in last week’s loss because of a back injury. So where does this leave Tony Romo and the rest of the Dallas Cowboys?
Luckily, Romo was back on the practice field Thursday making strides to a full recovery, but didn’t comment on whether or not he will be competing against the Jaguars, in London, on Sunday. “We’ll see, we’ll keep taking it day by day and just see what happens as we move closer. It’s improving each day and I think we did some things today that were positive. If it keeps moving in that direction, we’ll will have a good chance.” Romo said, via NFL Media.
Jerry Jones (Owner of the Dallas Cowboy’s) spoke out to the Dallas Morning News saying, “I am anticipating him playing. I have no reason to think that he won’t. Anytime he can play, we want him to play. We’re a better team, to be honest, with him playing. There’s no such thing as holding him out and foregoing the potential chance that we win.”
It seems that there is a typical level of pressure on Tony Romo, which usually results in volatile performances, but maybe this year is different? The 34-year-old during training camp said that his “best football was ahead of him,” a promise that so far Jerry Jones, and others believe he is fulfilling. So let’s all agree, that as of now Tony Romo is living up to his training camp promise by leading the Cowboys to a great half of the season, and is staying dedicated to the recovery process in order to get the job done. Mr. Romo, your effort and performance is noted, and for this you Fit the Mark!
