This past weekend for the fifth year running, the Flex Lewis Classic NPC Championships took place, this time even bigger and better than before.
“All in all, it was the best show yet! The quality of the competitors was amazing, and I for one now can’t wait to start promotion for the next, since we are heading to the world’s biggest hotel and conference center,” Flex Lewis, The Welsh Dragon
More than 300 competitors from the US, the UK, South Africa, and Denmark brought their best to the stage:
“I really enjoy the check-in, because I get to shake hands and take photos with every competitor. I am blessed to have such great sponsors supporting the show as well.”
As a three-time 212 Mr Olympia winner and 212 Arnold Classic winner 2014, Flex Lewis is at the top of his class when it comes to bodybuilding, and at the top of his game when it comes to nurturing his community. Now, he says, it’s all about leaving “a legacy.”
“We’ve outgrown our old high-school auditorium. Now we’re in a new venue, the Embassy Suites in Tennessee…an even bigger and better stage and more room for seating.” This year there’s an even earlier start to the show as well, and “a special Flex Lewis Classic version of animal hour, where I get to train with my boys and take photos with the fans…I look forward to meeting all the competitors and fans.”
Visiting his old stomping ground in Tennessee is also a chance for Flex to get together with his training partner and co-promoter, Sean Barber:
“It will be great to be back in the ‘boro where I trained for my first Olympia title with my training partner Sean Barber, owner of Olympus Gym.”
The Flex Lewis Classic is a huge event that takes about 10 months of planning to perfect to be the best experience for competitors and guests:
“The attention to detail that we give to the athletes, to the competitors, how they get treated when they walk into the venue, the type of venue they get when they get here and the atmosphere when they get here, and last but not least, the actual production itself, it all keeps getting better and better every year,” says co-promoter, Sean Barber.
Part of this year’s featured guest line-up include IFBB Pro Victor Martinez, two-time Ms Bikini Olympia Champion Ashley Kaltwasser, and on the mic, IFBB Bikini Pro Amanda Latona and Joe Volgey.
“The winner of each division will take home a free subscription to FLEX magazine, as well as a Fitmark Bag!”
But not just any old bag, we’re talking a limited edition meal management system called The Shield. This is the same bag that Flex Lewis carries to keep his meals organized and chilled,
“I can stay prepared for anything with my SHIELD LG.
I love it!” ~ Flex Lewis
We’ll keep you posted on all the winners of the 2015 Flex Lewis Classic coming up on another blog about the champ – The Welsh Dragon.
