Every one of us has a unique fitness journey, a story of how it all began and the exciting adventure it took us on. We like to share these inspiring stories with you, because as fitness enthusiasts we’ve all been there, we can relate. Ultimately, we’re all just one big #fitfam with a shared passion – to live a long and healthy life.
For Fitmark Ambassador Alyse Scaffidi (owner of BiteSizedFitness) her fitness journey began, like so many of you, in college with the dreaded first-year weight gain, affectionately known as Frosh 15:
As a first year pharmacy student struggling with the physical and mental frustrations of gaining an unwanted 15 lbs, I searched endlessly for resources that would help me achieve my weight loss goals. As we all know, there’s no shortage of information available online about health and fitness, which was actually part of the problem. I was overwhelmed by the countless blogs, websites, and “get-fit-quick scams” that I stumbled upon. Since I lacked both the guidance and motivation I needed to get in shape, my results took longer than expected. I found the entire situation frustrating and discouraging.
Once I finally achieved success, I made a promise to myself that one day I would help young women succeed during this very tough time in life.
Alyse worked her way through college and is now a “field-based medical expert for a large pharmaceutical company,” as well as the owner of BiteSizedFitness, which specializes in simple workouts and nutrition plans. (We’re lucky enough to have one of her delicious dessert recipes below). To say Alyse has a busy schedule is an understatement at best. Working long hours, traveling from town to town, together with the demands of running her own business, she juggles everything by staying organized:
I travel A LOT for work. I’m always on the road, which can be really challenging for those who like to prep healthy meals. My bag enables me to eat healthy, perfectly balanced, delicious homemade meals, regardless of where I’m working. I’ve even brought it as a carry-on a few times when flying.
Most of our diet and meal management bags come complete with seal-tight meal containers and cool packs to keep your meals fresh all day long. With our TSA approved cool packs, and luggage strap attachment, the Box and the Shield make the ideal travel companions.
So when Alyse is on the road traveling, what kind of meals does she pack in her Fitmark Diet and Meal Management Bags?

- 3 egg whites + 1 whole egg
- 1/3 cup oats
Lunch – Chicken & Rice

While Alyse’s pharmaceutical career was taking off, she remained true to her word and endeavored to “change the lives of countless women across the world.” Over the past two years, she’s “developed a comprehensive 12-week transformation program,” called #BiteSizedChallenge. As her online community grew into what Alyse calls her #BiteSizedArmy, so too did her success story, as well as the success of every member of the program:
I realize that achieving good health can be a complex and confusing challenge. I understand the difficulties of balancing work, family, friends, and fun, all while trying to maintain a healthy mind and body. That’s why BiteSizedFitness strives to teach women the concepts needed to succeed with even the busiest schedules. Our mission is to provide women everywhere with the fundamental resources needed to establish a sustainable, healthy, and happy lifestyle.
And now for that delicious dessert we promised you earlier:
Frozen Yogurt Dots
These are a trifecta of perfection – frozen, creamy, and delicious.
- 1 single serving non-fat Greek yogurt (I used pineapple)
- Diced fresh fruit
Take a small plastic snack baggy and cut one of the two corners. Fill the plastic bag with a single serving container of Greek yogurt. Squeeze gently to pipe out the yogurt into small dots. Top off with small pieces of diced fruit. Place in the freezer until solid.
- Cut a fairly small hole to avoid yogurt from oozing out too quickly.
- Do not squeeze too hard or you’ll end up with froyo mountains instead of drops.
