Earlier this year, we set a goal of 5,000 bags to be donated through our 1 for 100 Program. Well, we’re happy to tell you that our current total stands at 9,597 bags donated! We’re going to hit our target twice before the end of the year! All thanks to our great customer fan base. Without you, these donations wouldn’t be possible.
With a van full of bags and junior backpacks, we headed out to several of the Boys & Girls Clubs in our neighborhood, and met the amazing people behind the scenes, as well as all the great kids:
“The reward is beyond measurable,” Fitmark Founder and CEO, Mark Samuel.
We got involved in many back-to-school programs and donated hundreds of bags to clubs in Oakland, San Francisco, and Detroit. Mark even took part in a guest panel of speakers at the Teen Summit Pre-Session at the Boys and Girls Club in Pasadena. He said:
A lot of great questions about how to reach goals, get over obstacles and pursue dreams from this group of about 100 kids. My hope is to inspire them all with some real talk about my own experiences.
Then 500 of our bags traveled to Disneyland in California for a reunion of 200 foster kids with their siblings, through another great organization called Together We Rise. We donated more than 500 backpacks through our 1 For 100 Program for their annual reunion of foster kids with their siblings. Each bag was stuffed full of goodies thanks to the generous donations of sponsors.
If you ever get the chance, swing by the clubhouse and meet the amazing people who make it all happen. Maybe even offer an hour or two of your time, if you can. The reward is immeasurable.
It’s a real privilege speaking with these kids. If I can help at least a handful, that’ll be a win since I plan to be involved even more throughout the years, Mark Samuel.
