This year is shaping up to be an exciting year, and with your help, we’ve managed to donate 10.5K bags so far through our giving back program, called 1 for 100.
Here’s how it works: For every $100 we net through our Fitmark website sales, we donate a bag to local youth organizations – perfect for back to school. All bags will be donated directly to a handful of Boys and Girls Clubs around the country who will then in turn provide them to a young boy or girl who is not only doing well in school but is also involved in after-school sports.
Bags of Fun
The best part is driving out to the Boys & Girls Clubs with a van full of bags and junior backpacks – perfect for back to school. Seeing all those smiling, excited faces waiting to greet us is about as good as it gets. It always reminds us why we’re doing this in the first place.
Fitmark’s Giving Back Pledge for 2016
This year, we stepped up the game and made a pledge to donate 20,000 bags by the end of the year. So far, we’ve donated 10.5K. By the summer, we’ll surpass the 15K mark and be well on our way to exceeding our end-of-year goal of 20K bags. It’s all because of you, our loyal fans and customers.
Mentors and Role Models
But it’s not just back-to-school backpacks and bags we’re donating to charity. We’re also getting more involved this year, especially with the Los Angeles County Alliance for Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
Fitmark Founder and CEO, Mark Samuel is passionate about helping these boys and girls do well in school, and excel in the real world. Offering career advice and standing in as a mentor and judge of the BGCA’s Youth of the Year Award on March 23rd, Mark is there and enjoying every minute of it.
Kids need positive role models, and if our team can showcase that positivity, even for one kid, we’re doing our job – Fitmark Founder and CEO, Mark Samuel.
In our opinion, there is no greater feeling than giving back, so again thank YOU for helping us make this happen!
You can follow our progress, right here on the blog. So stay tuned for more to come.
