After winning his first competition at the age of 19, Fitmark Ambassador Jerdani Kraja had a feeling that he “would be a threat in this sport.” In an instant he knew that competing would change his life and open doors to “an amazing life.”
I was 19 years old in the marines and men’s physique had just became a new league. I was seeing so many of these guys winning or in magazines and I thought, Wow! I look like that right now, or better maybe. I should try it out.
As a marine, Jerdani was used to the physical demands of training and had built a solid foundation by the time he decided to compete. But competing was a whole different kind of training. He told us:
I did my own diet and training and watched YouTube to learn how to pose – Hahaha!
The year that Jerdani decided to compete, he was up against 43 experienced competitors. He told us:
I showed up to the biggest NPC show of the year, The Vegas Classics with 43 veterans of the sport! I ended up winning the show at 19! It was the coolest day ever! I knew then that I would be a threat in this sport!
I’m now a part of the best teams in the world and have the best teammates with Team Zero Gravity and Darc Sport and Evogen Nutrition.
How has Fitness Changed your Lifestyle
This fitness lifestyle has changed Jerdani’s life “in so many areas.” His success and dedication to his fitness journey on social media has amassed a large following on Instagram, SnapChat, Facebook and others. He says fitness is responsible for being able to “to inspire and motivate other random people.”
On a personal level, this fitness lifestyle continues to fuel his passion and beyond. He told us it helps “to de-stress and push myself to the absolute limit, not only physically but also mentally.”
The marines also fueled another desire and that was to pursue a career in nursing. Jerdani told us:
So before this amazing life I was an infantry marine, this is where I got the notion of wanting to help people as a career once I got out. Currently I am in school and still have about 2 years or so left.
Jerdani Kraja’s Favorite Fitmark Bag
The Envoy Backpack – the all-in-one gym, work, travel, meal prep bag.
As a sponsored athlete and full-time student, Jerdani puts his Fitmark Bag to good use on the daily. He told us:
I bring my Fitmark Bag to the gym with me in the daily, to team practices, and then to school to hold my meals and my school work and laptop. I bring it on the plane when I travel and to every show; you’ll see it with me wherever I go especially on prep.
Staying on track starts with a goal and ends with prep! Meal prep, competition prep, fitness prep; it’s all in the planning. Jerdani told us:
My meal prep is easy, but I used to have to cook for my week. Luckily, I was fortunate enough to meet Macro Plates who deliver fresh healthy meals daily – I can even make my meals custom during prep.
What’s in the Fridge?
Jerdani keeps his diet pretty clean, except for the odd cheat day or two. He told us:
I usually have a cheat 1-2 times a week to re-feed and help my cravings. But when I’m in prep mode, it gets way more strict. No more artificial sweeteners, no cheats, just protein and carbs and hot sauce!
Besides his meal prep delivery that he gets from his sponsor every week, Jerdani doesn’t even have “Walden Farm jams or sauces” in his fridge! The only thing is meal prep and some “healthy protein pancakes.”
Jerdani carries his meals in his meal prep bag and takes them everywhere – to “class, the movies, restaurants, to the gym, you name it! Haha!” He told us:
My family has become used to my “meal prep weirdness” and don’t bother asking if I’m hungry or would like anything to eat anymore – haha! But, every day the weird stares never stop, wherever I am – haha!
Sweet Tooth Confessions
“Ok, I have a huge sweet tooth, so when I’m craving fro-yo or ice cream, this is my go to. I use my blender and protein powder from Evogen, add a ton of ice and just a splash of water. It blends real thick and chunky and tastes just like fro-yo!”
