Fitmark Founder and CEO Mark Samuel stopped by the Boys & Girls Club of Marin and Petaluma last week to personally drop off 1000 brand new Fitmark youth backpacks as part of the Club’s back-to-school program. This donation is just one of many this year from our 1 For 100 Program that donates a bag for every $100 netted through web sales.
To be able to make this donation to such a worthy cause aligns directly with our philanthropic goals for our company and for me personally. I grew up in Marin and I wish there was a Club to go to when I was young. I’m thrilled that the Boys & Girls Clubs of Marin and Petaluma is filling the need in the North Bay by expanding to Marin County.
These BGC back-to-school programs happen all across the country at this time of year and thanks to the generous donations of sponsors and volunteers, these kids are prepared for the new school year ahead. The youth backpacks are stuffed with back-to-school necessities and a $25 gift card from Staples, so each kid is all set up for the return to school. BGCMP President & CEO, Robert Marcus said:
These types of corporate and community partnerships not only benefit the organization and most importantly the youth we serve, but they are in line with our core values in teaching our Club members the importance of community involvement and giving back. I commend Fitmark and all of the donors who have come forward to further spur our efforts, especially when it comes to community building.
It’s amazing to be part of these events and to support the youth organizations in our local community. Mark Samuel said, “It’s a commitment that we made from the beginning as a company.” Working hard so that we achieve our growth projections allows us “to give back to the community to our full potential. “Fitmark provides bags to kids who not only work hard in school and participate in after-school programs, but particularly to those kids who are less fortunate.”
Making dreams happen is ultimately what we’re trying to achieve. While helping youth organizations is our dream come true, it’s also a way to pay it forward to inspire each child to succeed in life. It begins with a simple message sewn into each of our donated youth backpacks that reads:
This bag was crafted for you, and you deserve it.
Work hard in school. Have fun playing sports.
And go after your dreams!
