One of the best things about getting into shape is the strength and confidence it brings. There’s no feeling like it. With strength and confidence you can achieve anything you set your mind to. Just ask Fitmark Ambassador Krisi Fenner.

Lifestyle: Fitness Competitor, CPA, Bodybuilder, Runner
Fitmark Bags: Max Rep Transition Pack ︱the Shield LG ︱Envoy Backpack
Krisi describes herself as a “CPA by day and a bodybuilder at heart!” She fell in love with fitness in her Freshman year when she took up running. She told us:
I took up running as a way to lose the extra 30 lbs I’d put on in college. I eventually trained for and ran over a dozen half-marathons. In 2012, my brother and I registered for a Tough Mudder. I knew I needed to build some muscle and strength in order to complete the obstacles, so I began cross training and lifting weights. My love for weightlifting soon ‘outweighed’ my love for running, but I needed an end goal to train for. In 2015 I entered my first NPC bikini competition and I was instantly hooked. Since that first competition, I have competed in three more shows, including one national level. I am currently in an improvement season, gearing up for the 2017 nationals season.
Setting Goals and Achieving Success
Above all, the fitness lifestyle has taught Krisi how to stick to her goals and achieve success. Entering a competition and having an end goal gives you something to work towards and a reason to get out of bed in the morning. She told us:
I have always struggled to stick with something and really see it through. I would jump from hobby to hobby and start projects but never finish them. Fitness, and specifically bodybuilding, has taught me the value of setting goals and seeing them through to the end. I wake up with drive and purpose every single morning.
Small Steps Towards Success
The trick is not to focus too much on the end goal, but the small steps it takes to get there. You need patience and perseverance to make that step each day. When you start to see the results of your efforts, there’s a big pay off. That’s when you start to get more confident and you realize anything is possible. Krisi told us:
I have learned that no goal is too big and I can achieve whatever I set my mind to. This lifestyle has turned me from an insecure, unsure girl into a strong and confident woman.
Strength and confidence – who wouldn’t want more of that in their lives? So what’s the first step? Where do you begin? Here are some tips from Krisi:
Krisi Fenner’s Top 3 Weight Loss Tips
- Consistency wins every single time. If you restrict yourself during the week but then fall off the wagon on the weekends, you aren’t doing yourself any good. Find a program that is realistic and allows you some flexibility, and stay consistent with it.
- Set goals – big goals, small goals, long-term goals, short-term goals. Set them. Write them down. Then start checking them off the list as you achieve them. It will motivate you to keep going.
- Don’t compare yourself to the IG fitness models. Sure, it’s great to look to them as a source of motivation, but don’t caught up in it and tear yourself apart if you don’t look exactly like them. These girls are pros at angles, posing and lighting. If you met them in real life, chances are they’d look pretty normal like the rest of us. 🙂
What’s Your Bag?
Kris stays on track by setting goals, breaking them down into daily, achievable tasks, and staying organized. By planning her meals and prepping everything for the day ahead, she packs her Fitmark Bags to help her stay on track with her daily goals. She has three favorite bags for three specific purposes:
Max Rep Transition Pack
I have three Fitmark Bags that I use every single day. The Max Rep Transition Pack is my gym bag. It has plenty of pockets and storage and keeps all of my stuff organized.
the Envoy Backpack
I shower and get ready for work at the gym every morning, so the Envoy Backpack holds my daily shoes/clothes/makeup etc. This backpack is so versatile and holds ALL of my things!
the Shield LG Meal Prep Bag
And of course, I pack my food every single day. I never want to be caught unprepared or hungry so the Shield meal prep bag is literally my best friend. I have had the same bag for almost two years and it still looks brand new. These bags are so durable!
So if you’re looking for a reason to get fit, think about strength and confidence and imagine how much you could achieve with just one small step towards that end goal.
