Mariano Rivera

After 19 seasons, Mariano is retiring from the New York Yankees. He was and is the face of greatness. He achieved near perfection and was certainly recognized for it.

On September 23rd, the Yankees had a 50 minute ceremony honoring him and all his accomplishments. Rivera stated, “It is a great honor for me to be the last baseball player to ever wear No. 42.” Not only was he honored by his teammates and all of his fans, but the New York City Mayor Bloomberg declared that September 22, 2013, is “Mariano Rivera Day.”

It’s not only about his amazing stats, but the all around package that “Mo” provided year in and year out, both on and off the field. Mariano is an absolute inspiration and without a doubt, Fits the Mark!
