With the start to the 2014 MLB season almost underway, the San Francisco Giants have a lot to look forward. Despite spoiling his scoreless Spring this past Tuesday against the Brewers, Giants’ pitcher, Madison Bumgarner is off to this strongest start yet. Before this past Tuesday’s win over the Brewers, Bumgarner had not allowed a run of any kind in his first 21 Cactus League innings. The left-hander is one of the top 5 pitchers who have improved their value in Spring training this year. With amazing sliders and curve balls, Bumgarner is giving Giants’ fans exactly what they want going into the regular season.
Bumgarner, who is only 24 years old, has made himself an established vet. With already parts of five season appearances under his belt, Bumgarner is looking like he’s ready to pitch his finest year yet. He finished the 2014 Spring season this past Tuesday with an outstanding 1.19 ERA and 22:2 K:BB ration in just over 22 innings. Bumgarner’s best season though, came in 2013 when he went 13-9, earning him a first-round draft pick in the All-Star selection.
In spite of his impressive stats, Bumgarner is still considered one of the most underrated players in the league going into the 2014 season. Bumgarner’s next start will be the first of his MLB career on Opening Day against the Diamondbacks. We’re definitely looking forward to an exciting 2014 MLB season, and with a focused pitcher on the rise, Madison Bumgarner definitely Fits the Mark.
