Petra Kvitova Shines at Wimbledon

Petra Kvitova spoke with tears welled in her eyes after her July fifth win at the Wimbledon games, marking her second title in four years. The twenty-four year old proved her talents as she beat Bouchard with ease. Entering the game as the underdog, the talented lefty won 61 of the 98 points in the most one-sided women’s final in twenty-two years. Originally the fan favorite, Bouchard never had a chance once the game started. Kvitova set up two break points in Bouchard’s second service game, giving Bouchard too little time to react.

Kvitova’s triumph has been a mirror of her 2011 championship as she practiced routinely before the game. After her 2011 win, Kvitova had more downs than ups, as she had trouble dealing with the fame and media that came with the win. Due to this, her success in this years Wimbledon games was seen as superior as she remained calm and collected throughout the entire match.
