Show Your Re2pect

Derek Jeter, who played in his last all-star game, will leave behind a legendary career as the MVP short stop of the New York Yankees. Jeter, who was drafted by the Yankees in 1992, is a five-time World Series champion and has collected fourteen all-star selections throughout his career. The forty year-old remained collected during the final game and reminded his teammates that the game is about having fun, and to remember that your career will fly by. The Captain went 2-for-2 with a run scored in his final game on Tuesday night at Target Field in Minneapolis.

Jeter was greeted with a thunderous ovation during the starting lineup introductions, and as he stepped onto the field for the first time. Nike’s Air Jordan brand has released an incredible tribute to the Yankee as tribute to his final year. The commercial features fans, peers and even opponents replicating Jeter’s famous helmet adjustment as they tip their own hats to the All-Star one last time.

Throughout his career Jeter has been looked up to as a roll model, and his retirement will not change this. Derek Jeter has left his mark not only in the MLB, but also across the country. For this, we show Jeter our “Re2pect,” as he Fits the Mark.
