Fitmark Ambassador Samuel Francois is following his dream and out to motivate you along the way. He told us about his “crazy appetite for fitness” and how he fell in love the moment he started lifting weights:

Being Active Is A Lifestyle Choice

The trick to getting bitten by the fitness bug is to approach it as a change in lifestyle that you’re going to stick to every day. Samuel tells his clients that getting active and eating right is a “lifestyle choice, not a trend.” He told us:

I believe you don’t need to make huge changes to start eating healthier. It’s best to set small, realistic goals and change your habits little by little, day by day to accomplish your goals.

Small Steps Lead To Big Changes

Making changes is a big move, and it’ll take you time to settle into your new routine. So follow Samuel’s advice and take it one step at a time so you don’t stress yourself out and get discouraged. Giving up is not an option! Here are a few tips that Samuel gave us:

We can all agree temptation is everywhere, so try your very best to customize your diet in ways that will benefit your body as well as your mind. If you’re like me and you enjoy inputting and calculating your macros, then you’ll enjoy Myfitnesspal; it’s an app I use daily to keep me on track. Trust me, those small changes will make a big difference to your health.

Samuel Francois’ Top Health Tips

  1. Start with the main 3 meals of the day with 1 or 2 snacks in between.
  2. If you’re always on the go like myself, pack your lunch, snacks and maybe even dinner in one of those awesome Fitmark meal bags. This gives you more control over what you eat and puts you one step closer to achieving your goals.
  3. Whatever you do, try your very best to not skip or delay meals.
  4. Believe it or not when you ignore hunger, you’ll end up eating too much or maybe even choosing an unhealthy snack.
  5. Another trick that helped me when I was first getting started was to not eat super fast. Take your time to relax, chew and enjoy your meal. The goal is to make eating a wonderful pleasure and not so much of a chore.
